Launching my decades-long love of photography on my Junior High School yearbook staff, I've been shooting professionally since 1991. I opened my first portrait studio focused on glamour and boudoir while serving in the US Navy. Upon transferring to San Diego I worked part-time as an Assistant Manager in a busy North County retail portrait studio - learning tons about efficiency in the volume market. I subsequently opened my own Escondido studio and expanded my work to include modeling and acting headshots. Working with models eventually led to commercial work, photographing for advertising and publication.
I relocated to the Los Angeles area (Long Beach) for a few years, continuing my freelance work and model portfolio/headshots work. Being hired by a national franchise company back in San Diego, I returned to spend five years of training students in La Jolla (and nationwide) to do portrait and event photography. After that immersive teaching experience I once again launched my own photography studio downtown in East Village to focus on corporate communications images for advertising and marketing. Morton Visuals has specialized in corporate photography since 2009.
We relocated to Dallas in late 2015 to open a new commercial rental studio, but are now back and booking headshots in San Diego!
How I Create San Diego Headshots
Morton Visuals focuses on creating portraits that show you at your very best – your own business branding image. I work to minimize the time you must invest, and strive to make the experience not only not painful, but – dare I say – enjoyable! You see the images as they are created, allowing you to make adjustments throughout the session. If there’s something you don’t like, we fix it! I make sure that you have an image (or three) that you really like before you leave. That image, or images, are then retouched and either emailed directly to you or uploaded to Dropbox for you to retrieve at your convenience.
